Maryland Auto TransportationAre you on the prowl for Maryland auto transportation quotes and services? Luckily for you, Maryland is a pretty popular car shipping location – well, sort of. Maryland doesn’t see a lot of traffic, but it definitely sees enough for carriers to go there. That’s really the most important thing – how willing carriers will run routes to a given state or city. Maryland has several advantages in that regard. For starters, it’s home to Baltimore, the state’s largest city. It also sits north of Washington, D.C., the nation’s capital. And it has a major stretch of Interstate 95 running through it, which we’ll discuss in a moment. Simply put, finding Maryland auto transportation services shouldn’t be hard, and we make it even easier!

Maryland Auto Transportation Information

Shipping a vehicle to Maryland shouldn’t be all that difficult, all things considered. Baltimore is easily the state’s largest city and biggest auto shipping market, so that really helps. Auto transporters like to run routes to and from big cities with large populations, and the Baltimore-Washington, D.C. area is chock full of people. This is eastern Maryland, mind you, which is also where I-95 runs. I-95 is the most popular and most heavily traveled interstate highway in the auto shipping industry. As such, shipping to or from that area shouldn’t be difficult.

Western Maryland, however, is much more rural, which usually comes with a higher price tag. The main route into and out of western Maryland is I-68, which runs to Morgantown, West Virginia, which is not a popular car shipping area. As such, prices tend to go up and availability goes down due to lack of carrier interest in the route. They will run the route if they can make money, so finding a carrier won’t be hard. It just means that prices to or from rural Maryland will be higher. This, however, is true pretty much nationwide.

About Popular Maryland Auto Transportation Locations

Baltimore is easily the most popular auto transportation location in Maryland. Not only does it see a lot of interstate traffic, it also sees a lot of international traffic, being one of the primary ports for shipping to Europe. As such, carriers are often running cars to Baltimore, which means it won’t be hard to find a carrier willing to take yours there too.

The second-largest city in Maryland, Frederick is a major stop along I-68 into or out of Baltimore. Though it sits on a less-traveled route, its size makes the city a lot more popular among carriers. This is due to increased customer demand. This in turn usually results in lower prices to or from Frederick, dependent on where you’re shipping from.

The third-largest city in the state, Rockville sits just outside of Washington, D.C., to the north. This makes the city a popular stop for carriers going up and down the I-95 corridor, which is quite a bit. As such Rockville tends to see lower prices than Frederick, but only just. However, it does tend to be easier to get to for carriers, which might make for lower wait times for dispatch and pickup.

  • "Being a rather large SUV that needed shipped from California to Nebraska, there were a few challenges. The first truck that arrived refused to pickup the vehicle due to it's size. However, Mike worked diligently and within one week he had a hotshot lined up. The operators of the hotshot were incredibly communicative and accommodating. The vehicle arrived withing 3 days with no damage at all. Although there was the one hiccup, in the end the service received was top notch. I would be happy to ship with Mike in the future." - Miles/California
